Beach in the middle of corporate
Client: IMI International s.r.o., Brno
In the middle of the production hall, the client's company had a terrace built and decorated so that employees from the adjacent department could go outside, relax, and recharge. They jovially nicknamed this terrace "the beach." The requirement was that it should have palm trees, sand, and the ocean.
But you don't see a beach here, do you? And you wonder why we even mention it here. During a meeting at work, the idea arose to make this greenery like a frost-resistant Japanese beach, because it also had to meet other requirements:
- the greenery had to be lush and voluminous when planted
- at least 180 cm high
- frost-resistant and resistant to strong winds
- budget-friendly
When we create relaxation zones, we try to make the greenery have multiple functions. It's the same when consuming greenery - we want people to consume it with both their eyes and their ears. And bamboo is ideal for rustling. It also fits into the other requirements that were in the brief. We chose a resistant cultivar that grows into its surroundings slowly. This gives more space to the other plants that share the container with it.
During regular maintenance, we make sure that the undergrowth under the bamboo does not dry out or rot due to lack of light. But once the muehlenbeckia, sedges and ferns are pulled out from under the bamboo drift, it will be a win-win. Hydrangeas bring tenderness and romance, which reach through the bamboo with their distinctive inflorescences. Aucuba adds playfulness, which no longer freezes in urban winters.
We have been working together for more than 3 years. In addition to the original plan to decorate only company receptions, additional spaces were gradually added. From simple planters in small offices to complex planting of larger spaces, meeting rooms and open spaces in four buildings of our company. Last year, we also tried complete planting of outdoor pavilions, which created very pleasant places for rest and work meetings. Thanks to regular service, our flowers have the best care and we can enjoy looking at them every day.
